A Gaza Strip in 21st Century Europe? Yes; Nicosia, Cyprus
remains Europe's last militarily divided city between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots since 1974. 2008 opened Ledra Street, the barrier line, in hopes to unify the city. Jordan Kavaderous on deviantART says
In 2004, Cyprus joined the E.U. and has been at the heart of tensions over Turkey’s troubled bid to become a member. This suggests comparison to both the division and peace attempts of the Middle East's Gaza situation. Please beware modern Europe has challenges to face such as this. Under no circumstances should either nation be admitted to the E.U. without breaking the barrier.

p/s- I do not report the segregated city's history. I do not want to know the history behind this.
